    Hi, I’m Matt Davis, and I’ve spent my life immersed in music. With decades of experience playing guitar and working with musicians, I know how to make learning fun, approachable, and rewarding.     No, I currently provide in-home lessons exclusively within the city of Seattle. Staying within city limits helps me keep travel times manageable and schedules consistent.

    Apps and YouTube are great tools—I even use them myself for inspiration and exploring new ideas! However, learning guitar is more than just watching videos or following a program. With private in-person lessons, you get:

    That’s great! I specialize in helping beginners start their guitar journey. We’ll work at your pace and focus on building a solid foundation.

    Yes, you’ll need your own acoustic or electric guitar so you can practice in between lessons. If you’re not sure what to buy, I’m happy to provide recommendations!

    At this time, I only provide individual lessons. This ensures each student gets personalized attention.

    If you give me at least 24 hours’ notice, I'll be happy to reschedule or give you a credit for a future lesson. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will forfeit the lesson fee.

    I’ll supply exercises, song suggestions, printed music for songs we're working on, and practice plans. However, you’ll need to have your own guitar and basic accessories like picks, a strap, a tuner, and a notebook for notes.

    Yes, for students under 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present in the home for the duration of the lesson.

    Yes, music theory lessons are part of my curriculum to help students understand the fundamentals of music.

    My lessons are 1-hour because it’s the industry standard for effective and meaningful instruction. It gives us enough time to work on skills and answer questions without feeling rushed.
